Vision

To worship God, love Jesus, follow the Spirit, be the rock that Christ builds His church on and break prisoners out of prisons.

Mission

To be the hands and feet of God and pursue His will by relentlessly pursuing the lost, and living out Matthew 25:35 in these ways:

- Feeding the hungry.

- Inviting strangers into our home.

- Clothing the naked.

- Caring for the sick.

- Visiting the prisoners.

Values

- Glorifying, praising and worshiping God our Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, and our Holy Spirit.

- Training up children in the way they should go, so that when they are old, they will not depart from it.

- Preaching the uncompromised Word of God.

- Living as a community both inside the church and in the Chancellorsville area of Fredericksburg.

A Church "Replant"

The Remnant Church has been through a lot of changes over the years!  With a new church building to meet in, we are ending our time in the desert, so-to-speak - while there was no disobedience or unbelief (the Israelites wandered the desert for 40 years because of their disobedience and unbelief), we have spent the past five years in different temporary meeting locations.  We were formally a bigger church; however, an unexpected transition of pastors right before the covid pandemic, in conjunction with losing our facility during covid, certainly manifested a great thinning of the church (across the country really, not unique to our body of believers).  We are now meeting in the first church building since Pastor DeWayne was elected as our pastor on June 30th, 2019, so in many ways we are a remnant of our previous church.  But this is in God's plan for us.  We're a lively, blessed, anointed, small replant of what we used to be, but don't let this fool you, God meets with us and we have a fresh start, a new beginning and a GLORIOUS future ahead!!!  If you are not looking for a megachurch where you might be lost in the crowd and hidden from any relationship with anyone in the body of Christ, then maybe The Remnant Church is the place for you!  No matter what body of believers you choose to meet with though, remember that you are not meant to do it alone!  So if you don't have a home church, feel free to come in and get to know us and be part of a church family!

History

The Remnant Church was officially established in 2007, originally as a church plant of River of Life Assembly of God in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  The Remnant has generally been a small church, but active in the local community. Over the years, we have been cared for by several great pastors, as we met in many different locations in the Spotsylvania and Fredericksburg areas. For some time, we met at the Spotsylvania American Legion at 8456 Brock Road, before finding a more permanent home in the Spotsylvania Courthouse area - meeting at 9019 Old Battlefield Boulevard in Suite 100J.  We also enjoyed a semi-permanent home for several years in a former section of the 24-hour Fitness at 4536 Plank Road.  Our most recent semi-permanent home was provided through a very generous arrangement with Victory Bible Church, where we met at 12341 Five Mile Road.  Our most recent church-in-a-box meeting location was in a gymnasium at a local high school.  During and after the covid pandemic, we met in the beautiful home of our Church Secretary, Diane.  Our current pastor, Pastor DeWayne, was installed on June 30th, 2019, after Pastor Steve was led by the Spirit to pursue a new form of ministry in the local area!  As with any planned and healthy church replant, although we are slim in numbers, we have a faithful remnant of prayer warriors and unshakable believers preparing for the next period of growth, as we have began meeting in a more permanent facility.  We are here, we have been led here for the times we are living in, right now and we look forward to what God has for us as His children!  It is an exciting time to get involved in the current replant of our church, where we still have needs and offer a place for you to get connected in any of several ministry areas!  Pastor Jacob (the Church that hosts our Church) is a wonderful Brother in Christ, and we enjoy great fellowship and mentorship from Pastor Dale Donadio, not only a great Man of God and Lead Pastor at River of Life, but also our Sectional Presbyter!  In the meanwhile, come and join us for praise and worship, the uncompromised teaching of the Word, and some fellowship with a happy and fun group of believers! Welcome to The Remnant Church!!!

Meet the Workers

Jason Michael Skaggs

Minister of Praise and Worship

Jason leads us in praise and worship!  Although Jason is a guitar virtuoso and a very gifted (and highly-sought after) musical performer, on Sundays he sets aside performance and simply leads us in worshipping God!

Diane Adkins

Church Secretary

Diane holds inefficiency at bay, and is the preventer of organizational train-wrecks.  She keeps us accountable, and mostly sane.  As a "revitalization" church, Diane performs functions that fall somewhere between what would be a church board in a larger church, and manages our administrative oversight functions in conjunction with Pastor Dale Donadio, our Sectional Presbyter.
